I’ve never done the online dating thing. I’ve gone on some highly entertaining first dates with random people, but I’ll save those stories for your “how not to go on a first date” post. My sister managed to snag the online dating win, but they met playing World of Warcraft, so I don’t think that counts. They are married though…

Years ago, long before the Internets, I was set up on a blind date. She was more than agreeable to be around. Lively, funny, intelligent and she had great taste. We had quite a nice evening and I was hopeful that I could see her again.

She ends the evening by telling me, “You’re quite a nice guy and I really enjoyed myself. However, you don’t make enough money so I don’t think I want to see you again…”

It’s one of those times I would’ve just preferred being lied to, y’know?

I’m hearing you about the horrors of online dating. It is just not the men that have issues about approaching women online, some lesbians need to learn what’s appropriate as well.

Most most ‘memorable’ was woman from Africa wanting me to pay all her expenses to move her life to Germany. I’m no one’s sugar mama or an easy way to start a new life.
My most recent was a message that simply said ‘I’m new to Hamburg and am looking for a female lover’. That was it. Talk about an immediate turn-off.

I’m thinking of just giving up.
