I’m not one for animals.
Now before you start heaping scorn and derision upon me and accusing me of having a swinging brick in my chest cavity where my heart should be; I don’t hate animals. I don’t go out of my way to dismember cats or hurl squealing puppies into rivers or against brick walls. In fact, I have owned, in my lifetime, two hamsters and one goldfish. And alright so all of these animals died (two, in quite terrible circumstances…and I’m not helping myself here so I’ll move on) but while they were alive, I loved them. I doted on them although my second hamster was psychotic and had less than zero time for me and my affections. What I’m trying to say is that whilst I will continue to eat meat and be reluctant to hand over any type of money to any charitable organisation dedicated to the preservation or welfare of animals, I don’t despise them.
I do however; take issue when Mother Nature sends her four-legged, eight-legged, winged and slimy minions to torment my very soul when I am doing nothing more than minding my own business.
If you knew the blood, sweat and if not tears then certainly Sprite Zero I have poured into launching this site/blog then chances are you might appreciate it just that tiny bit more. Or you might lambaste me for spending so much time and expending so much effort carving out this piece of the Internet for myself when the likelihood is that it will go mostly unnoticed and/or abandoned in a few weeks or months. Either way, it’s complete and of that fact, I am more than a little proud.
